Without seeing the video, know whether its worth watching or not (4 simple hacks)

Standard

When we are stuck with some technical stuff, we go to google or youtube to solve our problems. But many times the technical stuff on youtube might NOT work in reality. But can we know BEFOREHAND whether the video is accurate or not? HELL YES.

Here are some very simple tricks which you can apply to know whether ANY youtube video is worth watching or not :

1. See the comments first :

  • Everyone knows this trick so there’s not much explanation about it.
  • But some big companies FILTER the comment section and you see only good comments.
  • So if you want the real opinion, you should select “Newest first” option in the comment section instead of the “top comments” option.
  • You will have the honest opinions quickly and you can judge for yourself whether you wanna watch the video or not.

2. See the like-dislike ratio :

  • This is also a kind of well-known thing to do but there’s also a trick in this to get a perfect idea.
  • Let’s say the likes are 6k then half is 3k. If there are more than half dislikes, (3.5k,4k) then the video is really bad.
  • Another trick is that if the dislikes are REALLY LOW like, 6k likes and 200 dislikes, (which is not even close to 1k) then its a MUST WATCH video.
  • You can also not use any tricks and still can see the like-dislike thingy easily. You just have to go with basic instincts.

ss

something like this is what I’m talking about. The dislikes are way too high. So probably I shouldn’t watch this. (No offence to Miley though)

3. Rating :

  • There is an audience rating for every video.
  • You have to click on “filter” and then in the very left column, go to “short by” and then click on “rating”
  • You will get the best-rated video related to your search.
  • You can fairly trust the video .
  • But the page will have some videos with low views first bc the rating is according to the number of dislikes.
  • So you have to browse a little and find a verified channel or a video having rather a good amount of views like 100k+ views.

4. Top channels :

  • Go to google and type “top DIY channels” / “top mobile review channels” etc.
  • See the list.
  • Go to youtube and watch right away.
  • Bc, not all verified channels are good.
  • So this is the best way to be sure that you are getting the best stuff without wasting time on youtube.

So that’s it for today guys

9 reasons why Harry Styles is the next big thing..

Standard

AAAAAH!! screams the crowd as soon as he enters. Girls go CRAZY for him. His album is no1 in 84 countries and he’s on the top charts in major award ceremonies.

Harry styles ladies and gentlemen, is the NEXT BIG THING.

Why you ask?

1. He sings REALLY well :

Its no doubt that the singer can hit high notes really easily and his voice sounds the same even when he’s not in the studio. In One Direction, he used to have the top singing time being allotted along with Liam and Zayn. Even in his very first famous song, What makes you beautiful, he had a major solo. No doubt that boy can sing well.

This video below is one of his best live performances. You NEED TO check it out.

2. He’s a gentleman :

He’s a GENTLEMAN. A total gentleman. There have been many instances where fans just jumped on him, threw things at him, hit him, and hurt him but STILL, he never got angry.  He smiles it off. Those dimples are enough to stop a war.

Not just that, he has been always kind to everyone. Talks nicely, speak softly and makes sure his fans are safe when in the crowd.

You know, people always say that girls like mean guys. But harry styles is NOT a mean guy. He’s actually a gentleman. And he has ALWAYS been like that even before getting famous. This guy is proving the stereotype about girls wrong! girls DO like nice guys.

3. He’s breathtakingly handsome :

That guy, ugh, he takes it all. His face is perfect and paired with the dimples, he becomes the most handsome man you’ve ever seen. He has been listed as one of the most handsome men in the world many times by Forbes. He is damn tall too.  He is the man of your dreams!

4. His fashion sense is bold and beautiful :

Sometimes quirky fashion sense can go wrong. But NOT with Harry. Trust me, you cannot find even two pictures where he is badly dressed. Even for his x-factor audition, he rocked it among other band members with his fashion sense.

The recent fashion style he uses is custom made suits. His suits are oddly beautiful. Harry looks good in casual as well as non-casual clothes. Even if he wears a simple t-shirt, he will look good in that.

All this just tells that he is the perfect model.

5. Acting? Hell yeah :

Multi-talented guy Harry styles recently did a film called Dunkirk in which his performance was liked by many critics. So here we go, a singer, an actor, a fashion diva,.. and what not! He’s brilliant.

A video of Harry Styles from Dunkirk :

6. Crazy fan following :

Fans DO matter a lot. They can vote for you, buy your albums, go to your concerts, watch your videos, subscribe to your channel, make your name be spread to the world and can make your life.

One direction, since its formation, has gained a massive fan following. Their fans have also won awards for being “best fans”. (yes that’s true).

Harry always had the spotlight to him even back then in one direction. He was never among the isolated ones. No one could ignore that guy back then. And even now, he can’t be ignored. His fans love him a lot and they will make sure he is on the top charts every year and wins tons of awards. So be ready to hear his name from your girlfriends, sisters or whatever.

7. He is selfless :

Aside from being kind, he’s completely selfless. Even in his concerts, he makes sure he sings at least one song from One direction because its only because of one direction that he could achieve so much success.

He once filled in for James Corden and took over the show for him when his wife was having labor and he had to leave. Harry, of course, stole the show and saved the day.

He had even donated his hair to charity, made various contributions to charity organizations all over the world, he waves the LGBTQ flag at the end of his concerts to spread awareness about LGBTQ. He has contributed a lot to charity and good causes.

Unlike other stars, he never smokes cigars, gets arrested or involves in drugs. (yet)

Information about his charity  :

8. Bits of fun :

Ever went to a One Direction concert? If you did then you will know that it was NEVER boring. There was ample entertainment along with singing. The main entertainers were Louis, Harry, and Niall who used to make you laugh the most.

There are some bits which harry keeps intact from his One Direction experience. These bits are repeated every time and it cheers up the crowd and makes them scream more and more.

It is important because it makes the concert more fun and keeps the energy intact.

Our favorite is when he spits water like a fountain.

Image result for harry water spitting gif

The thing is that planning such small things for the crowd is really thoughtful and it says a lot about how much he (as well as OneD) care for their fans.

Other than that, he also makes a lot of jokes and interacts a lot with his audience ALWAYS. Which is SO NICE!  You will never get bored in his concert. NEVER.

9. Lastly, his songs are amazing :

How can we not address the elephant in the room? His album! He has completed one year of his self-titled album and EACH song in the album is different, melodious and meaningful.

He has really put a lot of effort in the writing and music style. The style is also very different from the usual one direction thingy. You don’t have to be a fan to like his songs. You can listen to it casually and will still love it.

It feels wonderful to listen to his album you must really listen to it if you haven’t.

Among all the songs, Sign of the times is literally the best song ever!    #tworeferencesinone

Simple things which can bring instant happiness..

Standard

The world is chaotic.  Every second, there are problems.  But we ourselves have the solution to these problems.  These are small solutions to big problems.  Sometimes, they are small precautions to avoid big diseases!  If we start to value these things, our life will become beautiful.

Below are simple things which can make you happy instantly.

  1.  Smiling :
  • Smiling is a signaling system that evolved from a need to communicate information of many different forms.
  • You never know who had one of the worst days of their lives, Your smile even to a stranger may bring some hope. So Give one and maybe you get one
  • Psychology says that smiling enhances your mood and brings positivity. Smile daily and you will be happy. 🙂

2. Phone call :

  • For at least one day, stop texting and start calling!
  • Call your mom, not for asking about groceries, but for asking her how her day was.
  • Call your dad and ask him how his day was.
  • Call your siblings and ask them how they are doing in life.
  • Most important – CALL THAT OLD FRIEND.  Just call.  Don’t think twice.  Call him/her and say that you miss him/her.  They will say the same.  Then you go on with the old memories of your school, college and you will never know when they will quickly ask you to meet!  A single phone call may make your plan for the day.

Text can never portray emotions.  The sound of your loved one will.

3. Hugging :

Ik in the west, it is normal to hug.  But in Asia, it is not that common.  Hugging, kissing, makes other people awkward around you if you are in Asia.  Of course not in every Asian country, but in MOST Asian countries, PDA is not common.  No worries! Home is always there.

  • Hug your mom and dad without telling them. Without saying anything.  They will be surprised, but then emotional.
  • Most of us don’t know how much our parents sacrifice for us.  They don’t even tell us their problems.  A small hug could bring a change.
  • A tiny little kiss on the cheek is also so effective.
  • It may seem awkward to you at first, but then if you know the outcome is positive, why hesitate? And hugging your life partner is always so beautiful!
  • You can also hug your pet!

Psychological reason to hug:

  • Hugging has been proven to have health benefits.
  • One study has shown that hugs increase levels of oxytocin and reduce blood pressure.
  • Based on significant research indicating that a 20-second-or-longer hug releases oxytocin, Leo Buscaglia encourages people to hug for 21 days consecutively and to have each day a hug that lasts for a minimum of 21 seconds.
  • He recommends “getting lost in the hug”, encouraging people to slow down and “use the power of the hug to be fully present at the moment”.

4. Listening to music :

Everybody knows that music is a healer.  It has always been used to portray emotions.  It is useful in many ways.  It can instantly boost your mood!

How Music is used in Psychology for healing purposes :

  • Music therapy is an interpersonal process in which a trained therapist uses music and all of its facets—physical, emotional, mental, social, aesthetic, and spiritual—to help clients to improve or maintain their health.
  •  In some instances, the client’s needs are addressed directly through music; in others, they are addressed through the relationships that develop between the client and therapist.
  • Music therapy is used with individuals of all ages and with a variety of conditions, including psychiatric disorders, medical problems, physical disabilities, sensory impairments, developmental disabilities, substance abuse issues, communication disorders, interpersonal problems, and aging.
  • It is also used to improve learning, build self-esteem, reduce stress, support physical exercise, and facilitate a host of other health-related activities.
  • Music therapists may encourage clients to sing, play instruments, create songs, or do other musical activities.

So, What are you waiting for?  Go and plug in your earphones and listen to music.  If it can heal mentally affected people, then why not you?

5. Food!

  • You don’t even need an explanation for this!
  • There are many children who don’t even EVEN ONE meal a day.  You are lucky to have food around you.
  • Don’t ever remove your anger on food.  If your sad, or unhappy, don’t skip lunch or dinner.  Okay, eat less for that day but don’t go hungry to bed.
  • Cooking food with your own hands is an amazing experience.  Once in a while, cook food yourself.  If you always cook food yourself, take a break and go out to eat.
  • And yes, its okay to cheat for one day. You are doing this for nobody else but yourself.  Just don’t overeat 😛

6. Naps :

  • Too stressed about tomorrow’s speech?  nervous?  Have prepared everything but still, there is a fear?  Do one thing – TAKE A NAP.
  •  Napping is when you sleep for only a few hours.  It refreshes you after you wake up.
  • Studies have shown that if you break up your day with a nap, you will be as alert and energetic for the second part of your day as you were for the first.
  • So if you’ve got an event planned for after work, take a nap before going out on the town.(source)

Note: We are not claiming these to be 100% true.  But these things many times, do make us feel good instantly.  Ps. this list is for healthily minded individuals for dealing with daily stressors.  It might NOT be effective if you have depression, anxiety etc.  Seek doctors help if you have a long-term stressor disturbing your life.

Women’s day special : How India can learn from India..

Standard

India is the place of extremes. Go two kilometers away from your place, and you will see a change in culture and lifestyle.

But is this diverse culture helping us or harming us? Surely HELPING US. Many Indians don’t even know about India as a country. They know that India is diverse but don’t know HOW and in WHAT WAYS is it diverse…

Here we are going to address how Indian cultures can learn from each other and make India better. Here we are particularly discussing women in different Indian cultures.

First, let’s start with the issues women face particularity in northern India :

  • India has seen a lot of horrible rape cases over the years.
  • The govt is very slow in giving justice.
  • Delhi is ranked really very low on safety for women as well as men. Its a shame for Delhi being a capital.
  • Although women’s safety depends upon region to region and culture to culture, there is a widespread patriarchy like any other Asian culture.
  • Women have “specific jobs” like teaching, NGO, IT, engineering, medical, etc. Only lower caste women are seen doing jobs which are mostly for men in other countries – like construction jobs. If you travel by a local train in Mumbai on Sundays, you will see women repairing railway tracks. Good. But let’s face it – they are doing it because they have to support their family. and not because they wanna do this job on their own…

Of course, no one wants to be a construction worker be it a man or a woman and they do this job for family only. But men at least come to sign up on their own. Women are very much dragged into this for extra help not for “equality” as such…

  • With this we have another point – the women of minority entities, religions and caste in India, are seen doing more participation just like minorities in other countries. But again, it’s not because “I wanna do this. I love this job!”. Its because “I have to do this. I have to support my husband in earning money. This is the only option for me”
  • The most important problem- education and female foeticide. Female foeticide is reduced in India but now abandoning a female child is increasing. Especially, in those places which are very unsafe for women (so they cant even be used for construction jobs). The literacy rate of women is better but still lower than men.

Is there no solution to this? There is. And, guess who has the solution- India itself.

Now let’s see the other extreme :

1. Meghalaya :

The traditional matrilineal system of the Khasi tribe has empowered women in other spheres. In Meghalaya (and in fact much of the north-east), there is :

  • No purdah system imposed on women.
  • There is no restriction on women’s physical movement, nor their attire.
  • There is no bride burning, female infanticide or foeticide and no dowry (there are instead cases of a bride’s price)
  • And there is no social stigma attached to a widow re-marrying.

2. Kerela :

When it comes to matriarchy, it is clear that there never was any matriarchy in Kerala. However, women in Kerala seem to be more politically empowered than their sisters in Meghalaya. An article in The Hindu says that a large number of women from Kerala participated in the freedom movement. This tradition has stood them in good stead today and there are not surprisingly, 7 women in the Kerala Legislative assembly.

There are other states which are doing well in terms of women’s participation in politics and in other spheres but if one takes into account the status of women in the family and the sex ratio then certainly both Kerala and Meghalaya stand out as shining examples to the rest of India.

3. THE GARO TRIBE:

Neighbors to Khasi, this tribe has a similar social formation and also follows the matrilineal methodology to trace property. A Garo family is headed by the mother of the house but the father is responsible for providing sustenance. The tribe is divided into sub-tribes and clans, with marriage outside the tribe highly discouraged.

The daughter of the family carries the clan name throughout her life, whereas the son takes up his wife’s clan name after marriage. If the marriage doesn’t work out, the couple can get separated without any social stigma. Similar to the Khasi tradition, the youngest daughter in a Garo family will inherit the property and if there is no female inheritor within the immediate family, the property passes to the daughter of the mother’s sister.

Competition promotes tribal culture, tradition

As explained earlier, in this post,

The reason why these places have women empowerment are :

  • These cultures support education for all.
  • Women stand for themselves.
  • Women raise a voice against the injustice done to them.
  • Men support women in their fight.

Surprisingly, Meghalaya has less literacy than Delhi. BUT, women say they have better control on their lives despite the literacy rates. So we have an exception here of Meghalaya which is because it is still following its culture. But it is said that literacy rates have now improved a lot which is a good news 🙂

Other states of India which lack women participation can improve their education like Kerela did, and make their states better in women participation.

However, one also needs to understand that if you see these cultures in modern concepts, some of these matrilineal cultures are in fact biased towards men. Which backfires by having more anger in men towards women.

But, I personally think that Northeast and Kerela are really ignored in India because they don’t have “urban cities” like Delhi, Bangalore etc. But seriously, what have these cities achieved? Most people have a stressed life there and half of the life goes in dealing with traffic. Yes, women can “Dress” like they want, but does that mean they get equal treatment? Probably No.

So we can see that matriarchal and patriarchal cultures both have their flaws. But as far as empowerment is concerned, matriarchal cultures have an empowerment in jobs and overall life for both the genders which can be seen in the northeastern cultures…

So basically what we need is to learn from each other. Kerela and Northeast need to have at least one major urban city for having ample jobs because they lack it. They then don’t have to worry about who will get the jobs because, given the embedded women empowerment, both the genders are gonna get jobs, not just men. Kerela even has transgender empowerment. So even transgenders can have jobs.

The patriarchal society of rest of India, can learn from northeast and Kerela and adopt their means of women empowerment because they lack it. It will provide jobs for all and overall happiness, prosperity, better sex ratio, and solve many of their existing problems.

  2. How to understand women.
  3. Equality is powerful…
  4. Fandom : Its a trap

Types of people you should NEVER befriend.

Standard

Nobody likes a bad friend. It is better NOT to befriend them. But, how do you know whom to befriend and whom to not? Here is the answer….

  1. The “cool” ones :

  • Everyone LOVES to be friends with this person.
  • These people are the most famous and “cool” ones in the school.
  • But when YOU are in a problem, they will always be skeptical to help you.
  • They will always find ways to maintain their “image” and even if their image can be maintained by ditching you, they WILL do that too.
  • Never ever befriend them they will hurt you the most.

Ashley Tisdale from High School Musical is the best example

2. The jokers :

  • These are the people who only want attention.
  • They keep cracking jokes, entertaining people to get attention.
  • If you befriend them, sure, you will enjoy the show but when you will really need them, they will not help you for sure.
  • Their main goal in life is to be “popular”
Jester, Joker, Castle, Fairy Tale, Clowning, Kids

3. The “I don’t care” ones :

  • There are various people who get attracted to the “doesn’t give a fuck” type people.
  • It’s not wrong to get attracted to them but it is wrong to trust them.
  • They clearly don’t give a fuck about you.
  • They only care about themselves and nobody else.
  • it is also uncertain whether they themselves will accept you as a friend or not.
  • Because they DONT CARE.
  • They come and leave college/school/office on their own, eat lunch on their own, and do work on their own.
  • You can make out from one’s face whether he/she wants to talk to someone or not. But these people don’t even show those signs. Which clearly shows that they aren’t even interested in making new friends.
  • Yes, they could appear to some as “shy” but again, shy person at least shows some signs that he/she cares about someone.

4. The subtle slavery ones :

  • These are the MOST COMMON people you will ever find.
  • It’s not that they are bad people but they also cant be trusted if you wanna make long-lasting friends and end up with one of these.
  • They are good people, but only in school/college/office.
  • They befriend you to use you.
  • They are nice to you and crack jokes etc, but only to gain your confidence.
  • Then they will tell you to do THEIR work.
  • Yes, its ok to do someones work sometimes but NOT ALL THE TIME.
  • These people will start asking favors from you MOST OF THE TIME.
  • They be like “oh honey please do this for me”, “this is the last time”, but the “last time” never comes and you have become their servants now.

Image result for slave

5. The rich and spoilt :

  • It is our natural tendency to get attracted to money.
  • Some even end up being a slave to a rich guy/girl just because he/she is rich.
  • If the person is genuinely a good person and being rich is just his economic status, then its ok.
  • But if the person is mean and he thinks that he deserves more friends only because he has a good economic status, then don’t befriend them.
  • A person who genuinely values his money will be down to earth rather than a show-off guy.
  • You will end up getting replaced.
  • Don’t befriend them.
  • They will also be mean and rude to you.
  • You don’t need to befriend someone who is just a rich and spoilt brat.

6. Those who suddenly isolate you :

  • Imagine how heartening it is, when you have befriended a really nice person but then suddenly he/she doesn’t talk to you anymore.
  • They quickly leave you without even a reason and befriend someone else.
  • It is hard to “identify” these people beforehand.
  • These people are also like the “I don’t care ones” but these people care about making friends but don’t care about maintaining the relationship.

7. Who cross the boundaries :

  • Friends are people who you like to spend time with. They help you, guide you, hug you when you’re sad, make you laugh and make you feel good as a whole.
  • But there are people who want to befriend you just because you look good.
  • Sometimes they even cross the friend boundaries and start touching you at private places.
  • When they constantly keep flirting, touching, and treating you like an object, ITS TIME TO LEAVE THEM.
  • These people have their own tricks to befriend you.
  • They will use flirty lines or will ask you out. After you say no, they might say that “but we can be friends right?” and if you agree, they are good to you at times, but then they start being a jerk again.
  • Another characteristic is that they constantly keep adjusting their hair, their looks etc which one rarely does for a “friend”.
  • Identify them as early as possible and don’t befriend them.

8. Who doesn’t help you when in need :

  • Last but not the least, the most important person to not befriend is this one.
  • What is the use of a friend who doesn’t listen to your problems and doesn’t make an effort to help you out?
  • Yes, one can’t “fully” solve your problem but at least they will make an effort to help you as much as they can.
  • Let’s say you are depressed and you tell your friend about this. If he/she does not tell you to seek help, are real douchebags.
  • They would say that “oh let’s not talk about this ever again. I feel uncomfortable” and similar stuff that would make you sadder.
  • These friends are really hard to point out beforehand. But one possible way is that see what they do when you tell them to solve a very small problem of yours. If they at least TRY to solve it, you can be sure that they are good to keep.

12 things you must know if you are enrolling in the science field in India.

Standard

Nowadays everyone wants their sons and daughters to have a career in science.

But they have NO CLUE what the science field gives them, what opportunities they have etc..

Today we are gonna see what REALLY happens in the science field and I’ll clear all the myths connected to it.

Note – this article is mostly valid for HSC(also called as “+2”)in science and not the other boards.

So here are the things you need to know before joining the science filed in India

.

  1. Science field is NOT Just for scholars :

  • Yes, you read it right. It is NOT for people who score well in 10th boards.
  • People who score well in board exams have a lot of memory power but, sometimes, they don’t even know the proper concept of many things.
  • For eg- They only know that the earth revolves around the sun. But when asked WHY, they cant answer it.
  • Thus, science is only for people who are conceptual learners.
  • Only LOGIC LOVERS and PRACTICAL people will survive the science filed.
  • You have to think, breathe, pray and play science to be successful in this field.

Image result for hsc science jokes

2. The subjects :

  • Science has two subfields- “medical” and “engineering” :
  1.  Medical has subjects like – Physics, Biology and Chemistry (PCB) as COMPULSORY subjects in HSC.
  2. Engineering has subjects like – Physics, Chemistry and Maths (PCM) as COMPULSORY subjects in HSC.
  • For cracking physics and maths – You need to have knowledge of applying logic and formulas.
  • For cracking chemistry and bio – You need to have knowledge of learning and remembering things easily. (which all people who have given 10th board and have scored 90% and above, WILL know)

3. “Out of syllabus” no more valid :

  • Okay, in school, you only needed to know what’s written in the textbooks right? BUT, you don’t need to do that in science.
  • In +2 science, you should know about OTHER things which are OUT OF YOUR SYLLABUS too.
  • And the reason is that – the 12th board exams and also the engineering/medical exams in the future, ask various OUT OF SYLLABUS question RELATED TO THE SUBJECT.
  • So be prepared for that.

4. Curiosity wins :

  • Asking questions is a MUST in science.
  • If you get stuck with ONE topic, other topics will be affected too.
  • For eg, you need to know something called “centripetal force” (along with its proof), to understand why satellites rotate around the earth.
  • This is why you need to ask doubts and you need to get them cleared ASAP!!
  • If you don’t have the guts to question, DONT COME TO SCIENCE.

Image result for curiosity

5. College life :

  • You have no college life.
  • No time for girlfriends and boyfriends.
  • No time for hanging out with friends.
  • No time for fun.
  • Even if one says that they have seen science people having fun, let me tell you that those science students are the average ones. They are surely not getting good marks. They are just passing the exams.
  • If you REALLY want to make your parents proud and are serious about being a doctor or engineer, you can’t afford to lose marks. And if you don’t wanna lose marks, study more and hang out less.

6. Tutions/coaching classes :

  • You HAVE TO get a coaching class.
  • You CANNOT do science on you’re own.
  • The college teachers only teach you the stuff that is required to pass your HSC BOARD EXAMS.
  • Coaching classes will teach you board exam syllabus+extra tips+enterance exam syllabus.
  • If you want to become an engineer, you have to compulsorily give entrance exams called JEE or CET(Maharashtra)
  • The eligibility to enter the exam is that you have to pass the HSC board exam first.
  • But you can become an engineer only if you study for JEE or CET and give those exams.
  • So basically, you have to study for both boards+enterance exams.
  • And thus, you need coaching classes.
  • Also remember that sometimes, good HSC board marks also have a good impact on the CV for jobs.

7. Attendance :

  • Here you can breathe.
  • Attendance is 70% required in college
  • But in science, in one week (mon-sat), there are 3 practical days and 3 lecture days.
  • Even if you attend only the practicals, your attendance will be up to 70%.
  • So you don’t have to go to college daily. Go only for practicals if you’re college allows that (which most colleges do)
  • If your college is too strict about attendance, please reconsider choosing that college.
  • You really can’t do both classes and college. Baccha mar jaiga stresss se (the child will die out of stress)
  • So, attend only practicals in college but attend the tuition daily without fail.

8. Practicals :

  • Practicals are compulsory for physics, bio, chemistry and maths.
  • They are conducted every week.
  • They are easy to do.
  • Only physics practicals are very hard for an average science student. Especially the one who doesn’t want a career in physics.
  • Practical exams are conducted too.
  • External examiner comes for taking the practical exams.
  • You have to compulsorily maintain a journal where you have all your practical notes written in a neat and clean way.
  • Practical hack – ALWAYS pay attention to the guide given by the teacher before the practice starts. Make notes and ask questions.
  • Take practicals seriously.
  • Practicals are fun and easy to do (except for physics ones)
  • Don’t miss practicals. You will get fewer marks in practical EXAM.
  • Marks scored in practical exams get counted for the final board mark sheet

9.  Study time required to get good marks :

  • Physics – if the concept is clear, you require 20 mins daily revision for concepts and 4-5 sums daily.
  • Chemistry- Wholehearted mugging up of chemical names, formulas, reactions are 100% required. Will take 40 mins daily. Even if you know the formulas, you have to practice their problems.
  • Maths – Daily formula revision and 4-5 different type of sums to be practised daily. Will take minimum 1 hour.
  • Bio- Min 30 mins daily revision of concepts.
  • Total time for any three of these – engineering (PCM)- 2 hours and medical (PCB) – 1/30 mins or more.
  • Note – this was just self-study.
  • You have to spend least  3 hours in classes daily otherwise too.
  • So classes+self study makes it 5-6 hours of daily study.

10. After Hsc :

  • You can either go for engineering or medical.
  • You can also go for Bsc, Msc and become a professor.
  • You can also go to pharmacy field.
  • Various other small fields are also there but they aren’t that good enough to pay you as much as you have spent on your studies.

11. All about the fees :

  • Govt college – less than 12,000 Rupees for 1 year.
  • Private college – 1 lakh per year.
  • Coaching classes – 1 lakh per year.
  • Travelling, food, time pass, buying stationary (journals, textbooks etc), lab coats, lab gloves, etc (for Mumbai) – ten to 12 thousand per year.

12. There is a way out :

  • If you are not being able to handle science, there is also a way to get out of it.
  • You can join arts or commerce field after completing HSC.
  • Fun fact – arts and commerce students can’t join science field after HSC.
  • So, if you think your passion is not science, and that you can excel in something else, you can surely shift to arts and commerce easily. While filling the forms for arts/commerce college, they do ask you that from which field have you done HSC.
  • Another fun fact – People who have been to +2 in science field have more knowledge about logic and rational thinking than other fields. Which if used properly in the other fields, can yield REALLY GOOD results.

How to tell whether a WhatsApp forward is fake or not (6 tricks)…

Standard

Whatsapp is a widely used tool for messaging. It has its markets in India, South Africa, Brazil and other countries.

India accounts for the largest WhatsApp users.

While WhatsApp is very useful for promoting your businesses, spam and misleading news can be spread within minutes.

But with these techniques, you can identify a fake Whatapp forward.

  1. Use Truecaller :

  • Truecaller is an app which tells you the name of the cell phone user from his number.
  • Sometimes in WhatsApp, there are messages such as “Call this person if you see a stray animal”, “Call him to send money” etc.
  • Then a phone number is also displayed.
  • Copy that number and paste it into Truecaller and see the name.
  • If the person HIMSELF has sent the message and is truly genuine, he will ALWAYS mention his name and occupation/what he does, on Truecaller.
  • A fake person will rarely do this.
  • Like if I truly am an animal rescuer, I will mention that on my Truecaller profile because I know that I have forwarded a message related to it and anyone can contact me anytime because of that message.
  • Once you see the name, you can use Facebook to search it and see the Facebook profile to be double sure whether he’s a spammer or a person in real need.

So, basically what to do in this step?

  1. Search his profile on Truecaller and see the name.
  2. Search the name on facebook
  3. See the occupation if mentioned.
  4. If the occupation is not mentioned, see at least his pictures or friend list to get an idea whether hes a needy or a scammer.

Facebook – https://www.facebook.com/

Truecaller – https://www.truecaller.com/

2. Check the news channels:

  • Only news channels show the real news and nobody else does.
  • If there was an eclipse coming tomorrow, the news tells it today itself.
  • So you don’t need to rely on WhatsApp for news about the environment.
  • Secondly, if there is news on politics, IGNORE it.
  • NEVER EVER take a political WhatsApp message seriously. It’s all dirty politics to make the youth do wrong things.
  • Lastly, if the news is related to someone being kidnapped/is lost etc, then its probably fake too.
  • Think logically –  If your child is lost, would you complain to the police or tell WhatsApp? Will WhatsApp friends and random people help you find your kid? What if someone uses your contact number, tells you he has found your kid, and then kidnaps you if you go to him?
  • So let’s be real – People will mostly complain to a police officer and rely on them only. Moreover, they may also approach the news channels. But using WhatsApp to tell that their child is lost, is bad parenting as well as a possible scam.

Basically, think logically and rely only on news channels for news.

We know that sometimes news channel themselves can spread fake news too.

So, we suggest watching only TRUSTED CHANNELS like DD news, Zee news etc.

3. Check with the doctor :

  • A random person sends you a message telling about Aryuveda and you believe him?
  • Rather save the message and ask the real aryuvedic doctor.
  • Same with any kind of medical messages.
  • “Better be sure than be sorry”.

Thus, before using random fake medical knowledge, ask your doctor whether the information being forwarded to you is really true or not.

4. UNESCO tells its announcements on its website.

  • UNESCO has its own website and it posts everything on it.
  • So better check it before believing anything related to it.
  • Same goes for anything related to the United Nations.

United Nations website – www.un.org/en/

UNESCO – https://en.unesco.org

5. Website, website, website :

  • Yes, again, ANY big organization will ALWAYS announce its notices on its WEBSITE.
  • So next time when you get a message saying anything about the govt policies, CHECK THEIR WEBSITE or just check the news channels.
  • Whatsapp itself will tell its updates on its website too. So no need to believe in random messages of “New Whatsapp feature” and similar news being forwarded to you.

6. Social media :

  • Every police establishment in this world uses a verified social media account and use it to tell any announcements.
  • For eg, the Mumbai police tell its announcements on its Twitter account and are active on twitter all day.
  • So you should not rely on messages about police, security or any threat. Just check their twitter/other social media or just ask them directly by a call or on the internet.

Recap :

Note :

  1. We don’t claim all these tricks to be 100% true.
  2. People are still there to run their masterminds and can still fool you.
  3. Now that India has internet users in huge numbers, we should know the dos and donts of the internet.
  4. The basic “DONT” is that don’t believe in rumours.
  5. With the above tricks, you can find a flaw in forwarded message easily.
  6. Yes it may take some effort but as we said, “Better be sure than sorry”

6 Project hacks that will ensure good marks.

Standard

School projects are a headache. Not just for school, nowadays, there are projects for colleges and offices too. But with these hacks, you can ensure a good impression on your teacher/boss by your project.

Hacks useful for : Handwritten as well as computer projects.

1.Write the project with a good handwriting :

  • A good handwriting makes a good impression
  • It tells that the person has taken a good effort in making the project.
  • Cursive handwriting works the best.
  • If you don’t have good handwriting, try to at least make your project readable.
  • The letters should not be too big or too small.
  • Avoid spelling mistakes and sentence formation errors.
  • IIf you are typing on a computer, make sure you choose a good font.

2. Use a good pen :

  • Make sure the pen ink does not leak.
  • The pen used throughout the project must be of the same color.
  • It helps to create an impression that you have concentrated on the content.
  • More colored pens irritate the eyes and the decoration becomes very in-your-face.
  • I suggest using BLACK or BLUE pen.

3. Highlight important words :

  • Highlighting important words shows that you have read and understood your project properly.
  • It helps to put a spotlight on the important words and sentences in your topic.
  • Notice how I have highlighted the main points in black bold.
  • It brought your attention to the word, didn’t it?
  • You have to do the same.
  • You can also UNDERLINE important sentences.

4. Make sure your project is in a structured manner :

  • Honestly, not all of us are able to read even one Wikipedia article from top to bottom.
  • Because ITS BORING.
  • And it takes ALOT of effort to read it.
  • Thus, we might read an article which is well structured and easy to read rather than something written like a novel with hard words.
  • Similarly, if your project is well structured, your teacher will enjoy reading it.

5.Make sure the content is also good :

  • You may do numerous decorative and impressive methods to keep your reader engaged, but if the content is not good, it makes no sense.
  • Thus, make sure that what your writing, is correct and which suits the topic given.

6. Make use of graphs and charts :

  • If your project contains more numerical and statistical information, you can use graphs and charts to explain it.
  • It will help the reader to understand the project better.

What did we learn?

  • Good handwriting.
  • Good content.
  • Structured content.
  • Graphs and charts.
  • Highlights.
  • Presentation.

WRONG :

Holi is a Hindu spring festival celebrated in the Indian subcontinent, also known as the “festival of colors” or the “festival of love”.The festival signifies the victory of good over evil, the arrival of spring, end of winter, and for many a festive day to meet others, play and laugh, forget and forgive, and repair broken relationships. It is also celebrated as a thanksgiving for a good harvest. It lasts for a night and a day, starting on the evening of the Purnima (Full Moon day) falling in the Vikram Samvat Hindu Calendar month of Phalguna, which falls somewhere between the end of February and the middle of March in the Gregorian calendar. The first evening is known as Holika Dahan or Chhoti Holi and the following day as Holi, Rangwali Holi, Dhuleti, Dhulandi, or Phagwah.

  •  Acute epiglottis
  • Influenza
  • Acute Pharyngitis
  • Acute Tonsillitis

3. Santoor soap:

medimix-soap

It is one of the oldest Ayurvedic soaps present in the market. No doubt, it is the most trusted Indian brand till date. It is made up of 18 medicinal Ayurvedic herbs, having neem as its main ingredient. Medimix is good for all types of skin but it may do wonders for women having sensitive and oily skin. It can help you get rid of acne, pimples, rashes and other skin problems.

4. Hajmola :

51aA+kNEZaL

Hajmola is an Ayurvedic digestive candy. It consists of a variety of traditional Ayurvedic herbs and is supposed to control dyspepsia, ease in digestion and control flatulence.

Hajmola comes in five flavors: Original, Nimbu (Lemon), Imli (Tamarind), Pudina (Peppermint), Amrud (Guava) and Anardana (Pomegranate). The tablets are packed and marketed in the form of sachet or bottles. It also consists of black pepper and salt.

It is NOT A SNACK.  It’s a digestive pill. Famous Indian YouTubers even do the “hajmola challenge” it is pretty weird in taste but it works the best for your stomach.

So eat as much as you want and then digest it with hajmola!

5. Dabur red Ayurvedic toothpaste :

dabur-red-ayurvedic-toothpaste

Dabur” is a herb species which was used by ancient Indian people to brush their teeth. It kept the teeth healthy. But using toothpaste is a better option. So dabur as an ingredient in a toothpaste is a pretty good idea. Although there are other aryuvedic toothpaste too, this is actually my favorite. It smells fine and works well too!

6. Zandu balm :

Zandu-Balm

Zandu Balm is an Ayurvedic formula that provides instant relief from pain. It is used for local application over the affected area, to relieve the pain caused by acute and chronic conditions such as a headache, arthritis, neck pain and shoulder pain. It can also be used to relieve pain and stiffness in the muscles. It provides relief from the symptoms of common cold. It can also help to obtain relief from back pain and sprains.

used for treating :

  • Headache
  • Common cold
  • Neck pain
  • Back pain
  • Arthritis
  • Shoulder pain
  • Muscle pain
  • Strains and sprains

7. Chyawanprash :

6

Chyawanprash is a cooked mixture of sugar, honey, ghee, Indian Gooseberry (Amla), jam, sesame oil, berries, herbs and various herbs and spices. It is prepared as per the instructions suggested in Ayurvedic texts. Chyawanprash is widely sold and consumed in India as a dietary supplement.

It is used for enhancing the overall health of an individual. Minor to major health problems can be kept away by eating it daily. It is my favorite product. hehe

Please note: Indians have no side effects if they use this but I’m not sure about foreigners. The skin type and body type is different of foreigners. plus, major aryuvedic products smell very weird. For some, they smell great for others, they might smell really bad. These are made from plants so their smell depends on the smell of plants.

Another thing, these are just pictures from Google and the information is from the respective website. You should try these ONLY IF you ask your doctor about it.

Ayurveda is mostly NOT harmful in any way but it can have side-effects on people who are not used to spices, yoga, exercise, Indian vegetables etc. Basically, they are great for south Asians (living in South Asia, not a foreign country)  but non-south Asians can ask their physician before the use of these. Try it daily only if the doctor allows it. Trying one time is also okay for getting an idea.

However, Ayurveda has a flaw – it can’t heal problems rapidly. It takes time.
